So for all those newbie flyer printers out there, here are the steps people commonly take to have special event flyers printed with ease, at record speeds, and for affordable prices.

Event Flyer Printing

•    First, check out online printers that are available to do the job.
We know, it sounds like we’re telling you to work backwards. But once you know you’re going to print an event flyer, it’s a good idea to check out printers first. If you scope out printers first, you can get a sense of their customer service, pricing, shipping costs and speeds, and you can see whether they offer design help for you event flyer as well. Most importantly, though, you can see what dimensions they specify for your event flyer, and what file formats they support.

•    Design your event flyer.
There are infinite options for creating your flyer design, but most of them will start with a program like Adobe Photoshop. If you don’t have this program or a similar design program that is supported by your chosen printer, you may consider seeking out the help of a designer or a friend or co-worker who can either do the job for you or give you access to the program for your flyer design. There are a lot of online tutorials that can help make the flyer design process much easier if you choose to take it on yourself.

•    Place your event flyer order.

Most decent flyer printers will give you the option to simply upload your flyer design during the ordering process. Others will allow you the option to email it over. Regardless, now is the time to figure out how many flyers you’re really going to need (usually you get a better deal when you print more, but you don’t want to waste a bunch of trees by ordering more than you need either), choose your paper thickness (often you can select from 14pt cardstock or 16pt card stock, and add any special accents you may desire.

•    Choose your shipping speed.A flyer for an event
Many flyer printers offer the option to have your flyers out to you the next day. Of course you will pay more for the expedited printing and shipping, but if you’re in a bind, it will be worth it. Otherwise, you’ll want to check out the pricing options that accompany different shipping speeds and choose the one that works best for your event date and your budget.

•    Receive and distribute your event flyer.
So you have your flyers in hand, they look great, and you’re ready to give them to everyone on the face of the planet. But how? Think about hiring a few helpers to hand them out in prominent areas (attractive and well-spoken hander-outers always work best) and placing them on counters in businesses you’re either affiliated or friendly with. If there’s time, you can also mail them out. If you’d like to saturate the neighborhood with your message, you may want to think about doing an all-inclusive EDDM campaign instead of simply printing a flyer.

When you’re done with all of the above, it’s time to pop a bottle of champagne and wait for your guests to arrive!
