There are so many ways to use the internet to promote your company, we couldn’t fit them all in one blog. So here is the next installment of easy ways to increase your company’s visibility on the web. All they will cost you is a little bit of time.
1. Make Use of Email Signatures: In your email account, you have the option to create a signature that will anchor all outgoing mail. This signature is an opportunity to make your website accessible to everyone you email. Use it! Alongside your other information, like your title and phone number, include your company website in your automatic signature to provide a permanent pipeline to your website for all the people you’re in touch with every week.
2. Press Releases: Is your company making a big move, hosting a special event, or doing something philanthropic? Turn your actions into news by creating a press release and sending it to free online press release distribution sites. PRWeb and PRLeap are a few examples. These sites also offer a lot of helpful tips on how to make your press release more effective for search engine detection.
3. Free Blog Promotion Tools: Websites like Technorati are great tools for promoting your blog, thereby drawing attention to your business. Technorati offers a blog directory and even offers you the option to write for the site directly. It’s unpaid but it could be a great way to draw attention to your name and your brand, if you’re a bit of a wordsmith.
4. Free Advertising: Best of the Web gives you a free 30-day trial of their advertising service. During that time, your business will come up at the top of search results on their directory. You also get up to three ad spots per advertising category.
5. Create a “Lens” at Squidoo: It only takes minutes to create a simple page, or “lens,” at Squidoo. You can use your lens to share information on the services you provide, the products you offer, your experience in the business, or even to give a “how to” guide on something you’re an expert in – people love those, and you’re sure to generate interest in yourself and your business in the process.
6. Get a Pinterest Account: As of now, you still have to be invited to create a Pinterest account, but one of your tech-savvy Facebook friends is sure to have a spare invite if you ask around. Pinterest is like a virtual bulletin board, where you can “pin” up articles that are relevant to your message or what you do. A well-constructed “pin board” will attract followers to your Pinterest account and generate interest in your business.
7. Hold a Facebook Contest: A great way to get more “likes” for your business’s Facebook page is to hold a giveaway or contest. People can enter by “liking” your page and/or posting on your wall. You can choose the winner by random drawing or any other criteria you like. $50 Amazon gift cards or gift certificates for your business are ideal prizes.
After you’ve made all of these promotional efforts, the last step is to make sure you’ve got the staff and resources in place to handle all your new business! Happy money making!
